Nettles Stirrups

Nettles Stirrups are the product of Hall of Fame Cutting Horse trainer Ronnie Nettles. The idea for this enterprise came about in 1986 when Ronnie was working in his wood shop into the wee hours to complete a rocking horse for his first born grandson. Strapped for time after the cutting futurity to finish this Christmas present, Ronnie crafted both saddle and miniature stirrups from oak. These laminated rocking horse stirrups sparked the idea for Ronnie to build a set of stirrups for himself. 35 years of experience riding horses set Ronnie up for success. He knew that a stirrup needed to be more than just a place to stick your foot. The right stirrup could help a rider keep his balance, reduce foot fatigue, and eliminate shin pain. Nettles stirrups are now famous worldwide for the comfort and quality that horsemen love. To this day the Nettles family still handcraft these stirrups on the same facility where they ride and train cutting horses half way between Houston and Dallas. Visitors to Nettles Country can pet the Australian Shepherds raised on the ranch, watch the cutters work, or see stirrups handcrafted, all in one day.
