If you live in the “rodeo” world you know that the Rising Stars Calf Roping is always Thanksgiving Weekend in Duncan, Oklahoma. Yes, you read it correctly, Thanksgiving Weekend. While most families are sitting around their dinner tables, eating turkey and all the fixin’s, or watching football; hundreds of young men and women are getting ready to compete at the Rising Stars Calf Roping. Young men and women from all over the United States travel to Oklahoma to compete for thousands of dollars in added money, a horse trailer, saddles, tack, and all the bragging rights for the next year. Chris Neal and his staff put on a spectacular performance at both Future Stars and Rising Stars. Without guys like Chris, our youth in the rodeo industry would not have opportunities like they do today.
